"Every human's heart is a wishing well where the soul of the human makes a wish every moment.. Some of these wishes are fulfilled and some are not.. But even if the wish isn't fulfilled, the desire remains and burns like a silent flame in some corner of this well.. Human wishes are million but of all these wishes, there are some that we are ready to die for and some that literally take our life.. And I've had a wish so long in my heart that this wish of mine has become the reason of my existence.." ~Sujitha :P
We all have wishes that were fulfilled within the snap of a finger and we all have wishes that we want really badly to be fulfilled but no matter how much ghee and incense sticks we burn, they just don't get fulfilled.. -.- However, like the old saying "Travel being more important than destination", the journey towards our dreams is often more fulfilling than the moment of success.. This is perhaps why the journey is often called 'success story'.. All the struggles, all the failures and all the disappointments suddenly start making sense the moment you live your dream.. Every failure indeed feels like the stepping stone to success..
But for all of us who never see their wish turning true, the journey becomes an important lesson.. A lesson that sometimes no matter how hard you try and how badly you want something, you'll just not get it.. Not because you're not worth it but because probably its not worth you.. May be there's something better waiting for you at the end of the road or may be its just not worth all the struggle.. I remember my Mum once telling me that as a kid, she had always wanted to have a watch but the financial condition of her family was bad and hence, she never really got the chance to own one.. Now that she has the opportunity to own a watch, no matter how costly it is, she just doesn't want one.. Reason? She says some wishes are better kept alive and burning.. The moment you fulfill them, they loose their charm.. So, she chooses to not to buy a watch because for her that memory of wanting a watch badly is more cherishable and fulfilling than wearing a real watch (By the way, she owns something like 3 watches but never wears them! -.-').. Hence, the truth is no matter how hard we try to deny it, some things in life are forever cherished just because we never really had the chance to own it.. People who are at peace with this little fact of life, often feel more content and satisfied with the feeling of 'not having it' rather than 'having it'.. For them, their journey was never 'failure' because they learnt the most valuable lesson of life and believe it or not, the chase was equally enjoyable! ;)
So, what did you wish for today? :)
